My name is Maria.  To be honest, I am completely inexperienced and have never written anything before, unlike my good friend, and now partly a co-author, Katharina.  But we decided that the blog would be more interesting if we show two different views on certain situations.  I want to tell our little „journey“ to Poland, Gdansk.  A couple of weeks before, I was completely at a loss as to what I could do on my vacation.  In truth, this is my first real vacation, although I have been working since early childhood.  But unfortunately in my country it is normal when people work a lot and have very little rest.  A couple of months earlier I was already in Poland with my colleagues, it was exciting and very cheap, so the idea arose in my head to visit this country again. On the most ordinary Tuesday evening, I was relaxing at home after a working day.  I opened instagram and saw the story of my old friend Vasilisa.  We met back in Zaporozhye, 3 years ago in one of the clubs.  Since then, we began to communicate, but in these friendly relations, I rather felt like a mother or an older sister.  She is only a couple of years younger than me.  But our life stories are somewhat similar.  In a bad way.  But this is not about that now, in fact, when I opened Instagram, I saw her photo, and just asked what country she was in now.  She replied that she now lives in Poland, in Gdansk.  I said that I had a vacation soon, and we agreed to meet.  Emotions overwhelmed me.  Probably because I haven’t seen my entourage since I left the country because of the war.  Some nostalgia washed over me.  After a couple of days, I finally met Katharina.  We met in one of the Vietnamese restaurants.  As always, we chatted about everything, and at some point I told her that I was planning a trip to Poland and invited her to come with me.  It was so spontaneous and so similar to me.  And I was very happy when she agreed.  We both needed this trip.  I wanted a change of scenery, to see something new, to be away from everything.  We have been looking forward to the next couple of weeks and finally the day has arrived.  We met Katarina in my apartment, chatted and waited for our blablacar.  I was insanely excited as this was the first trip I had organized.  The driver, as it turned out, was from Poland, spoke Polish to me.  I understand Polish, not completely, but most of it.  It is a bit similar to Ukrainian.  The driver immediately seemed kind and open to me.  This makes me happy here.  I rarely meet gloomy and angry people.  I got into the car and turned on classical music on my headphones.  It doesn’t look like me at all.  But I began to listen to this melody and felt that all the anxiety was letting go of me.  As if something is changing.  Finally our journey begins.
